This role offers hybrid working, providing flexibility between working remotely and collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders on-site.
This is a senior leadership role requiring strong project delivery expertise, commercial awareness and the ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams. You’ll be responsible for ensuring projects are successfully delivered to time, cost and quality, while maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and senior stakeholders.
You’ll work closely with the Project Director, Project Leadership Team, Project Management Office and wider business functions including Engineering, Finance, Commercial, Legal, Quality, Health & Safety and Operations.
Key Responsibilities
As Senior Project Manager, you will:
- Take overall responsibility for project delivery performance, ensuring successful delivery against time, cost and quality objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction to multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with appropriate governance processes.
- Lead project planning, scheduling and resource management activities.
- Manage project schedules, including P6 scheduling, schedule maturity assessments and Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA).
- Manage project risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate actions and controls are in place.
- Effectively manage project change, including variations and claims, ensuring changes against the project baseline are recorded and controlled.
- Support the Project Director in delivering against key business KPIs, including revenue, cash and EBIT.
- Monitor project performance and provide clear, concise and relevant reporting to senior business leaders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Support and develop less-experienced Project Managers through coaching and guidance.
- Oversee effective project launch and closure activities.
- Work collaboratively across Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering and other business functions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
