Senior Project Manager – National Security – DV Cleared
Role: Senior Project Manager
- Salary: Up to £95,000 DOE
- Location: London
- Clearance: Must hold Enhanced DV Clearance
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're supporting a growing consultancy delivering mission-critical technology solutions across the UK National Security sector.
They're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex projects spanning areas such as AI, Data, Cyber, Cloud, Software Development, DevOps and Platform Engineering.
This is a varied role covering the full project lifecycle, from early-stage R&D and bids through to delivery and project closure.
THE ROLE
As a Senior Project Manager, you'll take ownership of complex technical projects, working closely with customers, technical teams, partners and internal stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes. You'll also have a strong role in business growth, supporting bids and identifying opportunities to expand existing customer relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead projects from concept through to successful delivery and closure
- Manage delivery against agreed time, cost, quality and contractual requirements
- Lead and contribute to technical bids and proposals
- Build and manage high-performing multidisciplinary project teams
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, resources and financial performance
- Develop strong relationships with customers, partners and suppliers
- Manage project plans, requirements, dependencies, risks and opportunities
- Work closely with technical teams across software, cloud, cyber, data and engineering
- Apply the right delivery approach across Agile, Waterfall and hybrid environments
- Identify follow-on opportunities and support account growth
- Provide effective leadership in fast-moving and technically complex environments

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Proven experience managing complex technology or engineering projects
- Experience working within National Security, Defence, Government or similarly secure environments
- Strong understanding of both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
- Experience managing technical projects involving software, hardware or integrated solutions
- Strong commercial and financial management skills
- Excellent stakeholder management across customers, technical teams, partners and senior leadership
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within deadline-driven environments
- Strong technical awareness and understanding of modern engineering practices
- Enhanced DV clearance

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
- Experience managing R&D or early-stage technology projects
- Experience supporting technical bids and proposals
- Background in AI, Data, Cyber, Cloud, DevOps, Software or Platform Engineering
- Experience identifying and developing follow-on commercial opportunities
- APMP, PMP or equivalent project management qualification
