Senior Project Manager/Construction Project Manager

Location: Cumbria

Job description:

The role will cover three key areas of the project:

  • Design coordination between engineering and construction, ensuring the operational delivery is sufficiently serviced to achieve programme
  • Operational delivery inclusive of cost control management during construction across the civils packages, spanning FRC (formwork, reinforcement, concrete), steelwork, cladding and external works
  • Internal and external interface management, including all governance and assurance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure Health & Safety is driven throughout the projects
  • Management and coordination of the ADT construction team within the civils disciplines
  • Management of the supply chain programme and cost performance
  • Engagement and supporting the project engineering teams to feed construction requirements
  • Support the construction lead with the execution of the wider project deliverables through the achievement of the civils targets
  • Management and driving of earned value to ensure value for the public purse throughout delivery
  • Lead a team of project managers who are individually responsible for each package within the civils disciplines outlined within the above position summary
  • Management of the key roles who are responsible for ensuring handovers/completions requirements are sufficiently achieved

Requirements:

  • Strong experience within a civils discipline, especially surrounding FRC
  • Proven, successful experience in management the supply chain and wider stakeholders in a collaborative ethos
  • A strong understanding of the design phase to ensure the construction requirements are met to facilitate activities underpinning the programme
  • Experience management the supply chain within an NEC Option E environment
  • Collaboration and team ethos embedded in personal character along with examples of how this has been put into practise
  • Experience working on projects in which external stakeholder management is fundamental to delivery
  • Experience from a Principal Contractor standpoint, showcasing sound knowledge of CDM
  • A willingness to drive innovation, promoting and endorsing modern methods of construction
