Join us as a Senior Project Manager within the Air Engineering Services function at either the Bristol or Boscombe Down facilities, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivery of high value or complex Projects within the IDT and tasked with ensuring our commitments to our internal and external stakeholders are met. Our projects have a diverse and complex stakeholder community, both internal and external to the company.
The UK Defence business within QinetiQ is involved in a wide variety of exciting projects and programmes, from innovative research, through to modifications or complex flight trials across all domains. As a member of our project management community, you can expect to be leading teams to deliver projects in the UK, as well as supporting international opportunities as we continue to grow.

Your Responsibilities
- Delivery of high value (£5m per annum) or complex projects
- Development and maintenance of positive engagement with project customers, partners and suppliers
- Operating in a Safe & Secure manner
- Embedding a culture in line with the QinetiQ values
- Delivery of the project outputs, to agreed baseline (customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash etc)
- Defining and agreeing an appropriate budget, delivering the Project within this budget and managing and reporting progress against an agreed cost plan
Essential Experience
- More than 5 years’ experience of building teams and delivering projects.
- Experience delivering projects to up to 3 different customers.
- Demonstrate stakeholder management and engagement
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability
- SAP Knowledge - Desirable
- Air Mobility knowledge and experience – Desirable
Desirable Qualifications
- Hold a recognised PM qualification (APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or Prince2)

Role Details
This role is 37 hours per week and is based out of our Boscombe Down or Bristol facilities on a hybrid working pattern of 3 days per week on average, onsite.

The QinetiQ facility in Bristol is part of the company’s broader operation focused on defence and technology innovation. The site houses a diverse team of engineers, scientists and technical professionals who bring expertise to various projects ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Boscombe Down
MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. Renowned for its extensive flight-testing capabilities the site plays a vital role in the UK’s aviation defence contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.
Security Clearance
Please note that all applicants for this role must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
