Senior Project Manager – Public Sector

📍 Manchester - hybrid working
💷 Up to £445 per day - inside IR35
🔐 Must be eligible to undergo SC Clearance - see below for requirements

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to support a major UK government department delivering a complex programme focused on counter-fraud, compliance and debt. This is a delivery-focused role requiring someone who can take loosely defined requirements—often from a blank starting point—and turn them into clear, practical delivery plans. Projects may involve information-source access, solution design, complex network dependencies and bespoke hardware requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple complex projects and requirements concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work with business stakeholders to define, challenge and validate requirements.
  • Develop delivery plans that balance pace, value, quality and risk.
  • Coordinate stakeholders across architecture, security, networks, commercial, finance and digital workplace teams.
  • Engage with other government departments, law-enforcement bodies, external providers and suppliers.
  • Identify risks, dependencies and blockers, taking action or escalating quickly when required.
  • Support procurement activity and manage commercial and supplier relationships.
  • Help teams learn from delivery challenges by identifying recurring issues and improvement opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
