Summary
Freedom is expanding its Transmission Maintenance capability and is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our growing team.
Working alongside our existing team, you will play a key role in delivering maintenance, refurbishment and asset replacement projects across the UK's transmission network. This is an excellent opportunity for an established Project Manager looking to step into a senior leadership position within a growing and highly respected business.
Whilst transmission maintenance experience is highly desirable, we are equally interested in candidates from a strong construction, utilities, power, infrastructure or major projects background who can bring robust project controls, delivery leadership and commercial management expertise.
Key Deliverables
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
- You will be responsible for the safe, profitable and successful delivery of transmission maintenance and capital works projects from tender enquiry through to final completion.
- Projects may include:
- Power station maintenance projects
- Transmission substation maintenance
- Asset replacement and refurbishment schemes
- Switchgear and transformer replacement projects
- Protection and control modifications
- Outage-led works
- Cable installation and replacement projects
- Civil engineering and building works within live substations
- Multi-discipline construction projects across the electricity network
- HV plant refurbishment schemes
- Multi-disciplinary works within live operational environments

- You will lead project teams, manage client relationships and ensure operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and commercial performance.
What We’re Looking For
- Lead the delivery of transmission maintenance and construction projects.
- Manage project programmes, budgets and resources.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Lead project reviews and performance reporting.
- Manage NEC and other forms of contract.
- Control project risks, opportunities and change management processes.
- Support tendering and work-winning activities.
- Develop project teams and provide leadership across multiple contracts.
