Our ideal candidate

You’ll be an experienced development professional with the confidence to independently lead complex projects and influence stakeholders at all levels.

You’ll combine strong development knowledge with commercial awareness, sound judgement and the ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external partners.

You will have:

• Significant practical experience of property development, construction or a related field.
• Experience successfully delivering development projects across a range of contract sizes and types.
• Strong knowledge of the development process, particularly pre-construction project management.
• Experience working closely with developers, contractors and multidisciplinary professional teams.
• Experience undertaking development appraisals and feasibility assessments.
• Strong financial and commercial skills, including cashflow monitoring and appraisal modelling.
• Experience preparing business cases and providing clear reporting and assurance to senior stakeholders.
• Good knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within development.
• A working knowledge of the Homes England Capital Funding Guide.
• Understanding of different development contracts, partnership arrangements and procurement approaches.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use your initiative and drive projects forward.
• Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects.
• A degree, professional qualification or equivalent relevant experience within property, development, construction or a related discipline.

Experience within social housing, affordable housing or regeneration would be advantageous, along with knowledge of different funding arrangements, sales and the customer journey.

Working towards, or an interest in working towards, a relevant professional qualification such as RICS, MCIOB, CIH or RIBA would also be beneficial.

A current driving licence and access to a vehicle are required for this role.
