Senior Project Manager
Location: Fully remote in UK, with the first day onsite at a suitable location.
Contract: 10 months, with possibility of extension up to 24 months
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: £40.00 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
GI Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a leading global organisation on a 10-month contract, with the potential for extension. This is a senior-level opportunity within a complex, regulated environment, supporting significant organisational change following a recently announced M&A transaction. The successful candidate will provide leadership across complex cross-functional projects, helping teams deliver strategic objectives while driving business transformation, managing risks and ensuring effective governance.
About the Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex projects across divisions and at group level, working closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading complex projects from planning through to delivery, defining key tasks, deliverables, dependencies, resources and timelines.
- Developing and maintaining project plans, documentation, budgets, risks and governance.
- Leading cross-functional project teams and facilitating effective decision-making and stakeholder alignment.
- Identifying and mitigating project risks, developing contingency plans and resolving issues with a strong sense of urgency.
- Managing project scope, resources, costs and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
- Supporting validation activities and associated documentation within a regulated environment.
- Providing clear and effective reporting on project progress, risks, issues, actions and budgets.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of business strategy through project delivery.
- Supporting business transformation initiatives, including change management, process improvement and value capture.
- Developing and improving project management processes, tools and best practices.
- Leading lessons-learned activities and embedding continuous improvement across project management practices.
- Providing guidance and mentoring to project teams and contributing to a proactive, collaborative project culture.

About You
We are looking for an experienced project/programme leader with a strong background in regulated manufacturing, ideally within medical devices, diagnostics or pharmaceuticals.

You will ideally have:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- At least 9 years' industry experience, including 5 years in roles with increasing responsibility.
- Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects in a regulated environment.
- Strong business acumen and experience delivering business transformation, such as supply chain restructuring, new business models or operational transformation.
- Strong risk management, problem-solving and mitigation planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders within a matrix organisation.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with MS Project or equivalent project management software, alongside MS Office and Outlook.
- Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements within medical devices, diagnostics or pharmaceuticals.
Desirable
- Experience within the IVD industry.
- Experience supporting M&A integration and/or divestiture programmes.
- PMP certification.
- Advanced degree in science or an MBA.
