Role: Senior Project Manager (Accredited Diagnostic Development Lab)

Role Type: Temporary – 12 Months
Location: Cambridge / Hybrid – Office attendance required for business-critical meetings / workshops.

Your New Company

The project is delivering an internal Accredited Diagnostic Development Lab (ADDL) while integrating digital capabilities to accelerate development, validation, and implementation of complex diagnostics.

The project is entering a crucial stage where a strong programme manager is required to bring structure, governance, and delivery focus to a multi-workstream programme spanning multiple workstreams to ensure it meets set targets and outcomes through the next year. The successful candidate will work with significant autonomy, reporting into the Oncology R&D PMO team but embedded day-to-day with the ADDL leadership team.

Your New Role (First 6 Months)

  • Establish and implement a robust programme governance framework across multiple workstreams, including project reporting, delivery tracking, decision-making forums, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Lead delivery of a complex laboratory capability build programme, ensuring milestones, dependencies, risks, budgets, and resources remain on track across a diverse group of scientific, digital, and operational stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain clear reporting mechanisms for senior leadership, including programme updates, progress reviews, and key decision forums.
  • Oversee budget management and benefits realisation, tracking spend and return on investment against a significant business case.
  • Drive delivery of key programme milestones to support future clinical development activities and operational readiness objectives.
  • Partner with scientific, digital, and technology teams to establish and enhance critical diagnostic and data-driven capabilities within the new laboratory environment.
  • Facilitate strategic planning activities, defining delivery roadmaps, key milestones, and operating models to support successful implementation through 2027.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
