About The Role
At GRAHAM, we are a trusted Facilities Management and Construction partner, delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-quality solutions across complex estates. As part of a major long-term partnership with London Metropolitan University, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of the University's Estate Strategy, Campus Masterplan, and ambitious capital investment programme.
The Senior Project Manager will act as GRAHAM's delivery lead across a diverse portfolio of estate, infrastructure, refurbishment, and new-build projects, ensuring investment priorities are translated into successful outcomes that support the University's strategic, operational, and academic objectives.
Working within an integrated client environment, the role will provide leadership and coordination throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility, option appraisal, and business case development through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness. The postholder will oversee projects delivered through a variety of procurement routes and contract forms, ensuring delivery teams, consultants, and contractors are aligned to programme objectives, budget requirements, and stakeholder expectations.
The Senior Project Manager will play a key role in managing risks, dependencies, programme interfaces, and operational impacts across a live university environment, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to teaching, research, student experience, and campus operations. The role will also support governance, performance monitoring, and reporting, engaging effectively with stakeholders ranging from operational users and academic departments through to senior leadership and executive-level decision-makers.

The Senior Project Manager Shall
- Lead the successful delivery of projects and workstreams across the London Metropolitan University Estate Strategy, Campus Masterplan, and Capital Investment Programme.
- Manage projects through the full lifecycle, including feasibility, design development, procurement, construction, commissioning, handover, and post-occupancy review.
- Act as the primary interface between GRAHAM, the University, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders, developing trusted and collaborative working relationships.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams, specialist contractors, and internal delivery teams to ensure projects are effectively planned, managed, and delivered.
- Prepare and maintain project execution plans, programmes, risk registers, budgets, change controls, and performance reports.
- Monitor project performance against agreed objectives, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, quality, and operational requirements.
- Manage project governance processes, including the preparation of reports, presentations, and recommendations for client governance boards and senior leadership teams.
- Lead stakeholder engagement with academic departments, professional services teams, students, end users, and estate representatives to ensure project requirements are understood and successfully delivered.
- Ensure projects are planned and delivered in a manner that minimizes disruption to teaching, research, student experience, and wider campus operations.
- Oversee procurement activities and manage projects delivered through a range of procurement routes and contract forms.
- Manage project risks, opportunities, dependencies, and interfaces across the wider capital programme.
- Ensure effective coordination of decant requirements, enabling works, operational readiness, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Promote best practice in project management, design quality, sustainability, whole-life value, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all projects comply with statutory requirements and GRAHAM management systems relating to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
- Support the achievement of the University's sustainability, decarbonisation, and net-zero objectives through the development and delivery of projects.
- Review project outcomes and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement across the programme.
- Prepare and present project updates, programme reports, and performance information to operational stakeholders, senior management, and executive-level governance forums.
- Manage and monitor the performance of consultants, contractors, and specialist suppliers, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives and contractual requirements.
- Positively represent GRAHAM and contribute to the development of a collaborative long-term partnership with London Metropolitan University.

About You
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrable experience in a Senior Project Management role.
- Experience delivering projects through the full lifecycle from feasibility, design, and procurement through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Experience delivering projects within Higher Education or similarly complex operational environments.
- Proven track record of delivering commercial, education, or public sector projects with individual values up to £10m.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects of varying scale, complexity, and procurement route.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience administering projects under JCT Design & Build contracts.
- Knowledge of contract administration, project governance, change control, and risk management.
- Experience using Common Data Environments (CDEs), document management, and project control systems.
- Ability to develop and manage project programmes using Microsoft Project.
- Strong commercial awareness, including budget management and cost control.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365.
- Excellent report writing, presentation, and workshop facilitation skills.
- Good understanding of Building Safety Act requirements, CDM Regulations, Health & Safety legislation, and associated duties relating to the planning, design, and delivery of construction projects.

Desirable Criteria
- Degree qualified in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (APM, CIOB, RICS, or equivalent).
- Experience delivering projects within the Higher Education sector.
- Experience working within BIM and ISO 19650 environments.
- Experience delivering sustainability, decarbonisation, or net-zero projects.
- Experience working within long-term strategic estate partnerships or framework arrangements.
