About us
AD Baker is a design-led luxury retail fit-out contractor and millwork manufacturer, based in Hampton, Greater London. For fifty years we have built complex, high-quality retail interiors across the UK and Europe. We combine technical development, in-house manufacture and on-site delivery under one roof.
Our brand partners include Jacquemus, Dior, Hermès, The Row, Schiaparelli, Balenciaga, Diptyque, Burberry and Supreme. Our 40 strong team covers senior leadership, site delivery, projects, procurement and a 25,000 sq ft production facility. We typically run up to seven live sites at once.
Role overview
Location: Office in Hampton, Greater London (TW12), with site based work across London, the UK and Europe
Work arrangement: Hybrid, full-time.
We’re recruiting a Senior Project Manager and a Project Manager who want real ownership of their projects. You’ll run your own diary, lead client and design-team relationships, and take projects from tender to handover your way: on time, on budget and to an exceptional standard.
You’ll be trusted to get on with it. You’ll be supported by senior leadership team, manage and be supported by an experienced site team and co-ordinate with our own factory ensuring full control on deliverables. This is a place to build a long-term career, not just your next project.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Project management
- Lead luxury retail fit-out projects from tender through pre-construction, delivery, handover and final account
- Build and manage construction programmes, keeping clients, site teams, subcontractors and our factory aligned
- Own project cost control: procurement, purchase orders, variations, forecasting and cost/value reporting
- Work closely with our Production Director and Site Managers to coordinate manufacture, deliveries and installation
- Manage H&S and CDM compliance with our H&S consultant, from pre-start paperwork to completion and O&M manuals
- Spot risks early and solve problems with a calm, practical approach
Client and stakeholder management
- Act as the main point of contact for brand clients, architects, designers and consultants
- Protect the design intent while managing the commercial and technical realities of each project
- Represent AD Baker and the senior leadership team at client and design-team meetings
- Build long-term relationships that lead to repeat work, rollouts and aftercare
REQUIREMENTS
Skills
- Proven project management experience + 5 years in high-end retail, architectural or commercial interior fit-out
- Technical knowledge required; site or tools background highly desirable
- Shopfitting or main-contractor experience; millwork or joinery knowledge is a strong advantage
- Strong commercial and contract knowledge, including contract conditions, cost control and variations
- Good working knowledge of CDM regulations and H&S compliance
- Confident and charismatic communicator who can manage several stakeholders and projects at once
- Self-starter who is organised and calm under pressure, with a real eye for detail. Someone who understands the strength of good comms; always following up with internal & external stakeholders to keep things moving
- An interest in design, materials, luxury brands and how things are made

Education and experience
- HNC, HND or degree in construction, project management or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Senior PM: [5+] years PM experience, leading flagship-scale projects and key client accounts
- PM: [3+] years PM experience in fit-out or shopfitting
- CSCS card and asbestos awareness an advantage
Software
- Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat
- Programming software (MS Project or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret CAD technical drawings
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits.
Freelance arrangements are also considered. Candidates must be UK based.
