Senior Project Manager - Construction & Delivery
Location: London, UK
Reporting to: UK Managing Director
Type: Full-time, Employed
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – Construction & Delivery to act as Elements Green’s senior internal project-delivery lead across the UK portfolio, with a particular focus on major BESS and renewable energy projects moving through mobilisation, construction, commissioning, takeover and handover.
The role will provide experienced owner-side construction leadership between internal Project Managers, functional leads, external Project Directors, EPC contractors and key suppliers. The successful candidate will take a hands-on role in protecting programme, cost, contractual, quality and H&S positions while ensuring that project issues are understood, challenged and resolved at the appropriate level.
This is a senior delivery role with genuine delegated authority. The successful candidate will make appropriate project decisions on behalf of Elements Green within agreed governance thresholds, escalating material commercial, contractual, investment or strategic matters to the UK Managing Director, Investment Committee or Board as required.
The role requires significant practical construction and contract-management experience, strong commercial judgement and the ability to operate confidently both on site and with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Construction & Project Delivery
- Act as Elements Green’s senior internal project-delivery lead across construction-stage projects, taking ownership from Ready-to-Build (RTB) / financial close through mobilisation, construction, commissioning, takeover, handover and close-out.
- Provide hands-on construction oversight through regular site attendance, progress meetings, inspections and direct engagement with contractors, designers and suppliers.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely and effectively against agreed scope, programme, budget, quality requirements and contractual obligations.
- Support mobilisation and delivery of new BESS and renewable energy projects, embedding lessons learned from projects already in construction before subsequent projects commence.
- Provide senior delivery input during acquisitions and pre-construction due diligence to identify construction, programme, contractual, interface and delivery risks before investment decisions are made.
Programme & Delivery Control
- Own and challenge integrated master programmes incorporating EPC, BESS/OEM, grid/NGET/DNO, utilities, commissioning and internal Elements Green workstreams.
- Identify critical-path activities, dependencies, constraints and emerging delays at an early stage and drive practical mitigation and recovery plans.
- Independently challenge contractor and consultant reporting and maintain a clear internal view of actual project status, forecast completion and key decisions required.
- Establish clear accountability for project milestones and intervene where delivery is materially off programme or outside agreed risk tolerance.
- Ensure contractual deliverables, approvals, information requirements and key actions are actively tracked through to closure.
Contractual & Commercial Management
- Manage and challenge EPC contractors and key suppliers against contractual obligations, scope, programme, milestones, deliverables, quality requirements and performance.
- Apply strong construction and EPC contract management, including notices, instructions, variations and change control, claims, extensions of time, payment milestones and contractual deliverables, ensuring Elements Green’s position is protected.
- Work closely with Commercial, Legal, Technical and Finance teams to assess claims, variations, emerging liabilities and cost exposure before recommendations or decisions are made.
- Provide robust review and verification of contractor applications, milestone evidence and change proposals within the agreed delegated authority and governance framework.
- Maintain disciplined change control and ensure potential scope gaps, additional costs and contractual risks are identified and managed before they default to Elements Green.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
