Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented Senior Project Manager to join our Defence Team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the integration and delivery of critical assets that support national defence capability, working with client teams, strategic partners and specialist suppliers on one of the UK's most complex engineering programmes.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination and integration of glovebox, containment and PP&E work packages through design, procurement, manufacture, installation, commissioning and operational handover. The role offers the opportunity to influence major programme outcomes while ensuring the highest standards of safety, governance, compliance and project performance.

Requirements

Due to the nature of this project, candidates must be eligible to obtain Developed Vetting (DV) Security Clearance. Existing DV clearance is highly desirable.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing the delivery and integration of complex glovebox, containment and Process Plant and Equipment (PP&E) work packages.
  • Developing and implementing procurement, manufacturing, installation and commissioning strategies aligned to programme objectives.
  • Managing multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating delivery across client, supplier and partner organisations.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly and in accordance with approved cost, schedule and quality baselines.
  • Overseeing supplier performance, design development, factory acceptance testing and manufacture assurance activities.
  • Managing interfaces between containment systems, process plant, utilities, control systems and wider facility infrastructure.
  • Driving integration planning and coordination across mechanical, electrical, controls, ventilation and civil engineering disciplines.
  • Monitoring programme performance, risks, opportunities and recovery plans to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
  • Supporting NEC4 contract administration, change control, commercial management and risk mitigation activities.
  • Preparing and presenting project reporting, governance materials and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Supporting commissioning, operational readiness and handover activities to ensure successful transition into operations.
  • Building strong working relationships across project teams, suppliers, service lines and key Defence stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
