Senior Project Manager (Contract) - Infrastructure

Description
We are currently recruiting a Senior Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO) on a 6-month contract.
As an experienced Senior Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of Microsoft Infrastructure and Cloud Transformation programmes for enterprise customers. Working closely with customers, technical consultants, architects and delivery teams, you will oversee complex projects spanning Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Security, Identity, Networking and Modern Workplace solutions.
This role requires strong stakeholder management, commercial awareness and proven experience delivering large-scale infrastructure and cloud transformation initiatives within enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Accountability
- Hold end-to-end accountability for the successful delivery of large, complex or multiple concurrent Microsoft Infrastructure projects.
- Ensure delivery commitments, customer outcomes and commercial objectives are achieved.
- Lead project recovery activities where required and drive appropriate corrective actions.
- Manage project delivery across cloud migration, infrastructure modernisation and workplace transformation initiatives.
- Ensure projects are delivered to agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality standards.
Delivery Leadership
- Lead programmes or portfolios of related infrastructure and cloud projects.
- Manage dependencies across infrastructure, networking, security, identity, Azure and Microsoft 365 workstreams.
- Direct technical project teams, solution architects, consultants and third-party vendors.
- Provide escalation management for significant project risks, issues and technical delivery challenges.
- Drive successful adoption of project governance, delivery methodologies and PMO standards.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders.
- Engage with CIOs, IT Directors, Infrastructure Managers and Technical Leadership teams.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and technology delivery outcomes.
- Facilitate steering committees, programme governance meetings and executive reporting.
- Represent Codec professionally across all customer engagements.

Commercial & Contractual Accountability
- Maintain oversight of project budgets, forecasts and delivery profitability.
- Review resource forecasts and project financial performance.
- Manage commercial dependencies and contractual obligations.
- Oversee change control processes and associated commercial impacts.
- Support pre-sales activities and project estimation where required.
Governance & Assurance
- Ensure effective project governance and adherence to PMO standards.
- Maintain oversight of RAID logs, project plans, milestones and resource forecasts.
- Monitor project health metrics and delivery performance.
- Provide accurate and transparent reporting to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure quality assurance processes are consistently applied across projects.
People Leadership
- Mentor and coach Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
- Support capability development within the PMO and delivery teams.
- Promote best practice in project management and delivery governance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 5+ years' experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure and cloud transformation projects.
- Prince2 Practitioner, PMP or equivalent Project Management certification.
- Proven experience delivering complex Microsoft technology projects within large enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects involving one or more of the following:
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft 365
- Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Microsoft Intune
- Exchange Online
- SharePoint Online
- Microsoft Teams
- Security & Compliance technologies
- Infrastructure modernisation programmes
- Data centre migration projects
- Cloud adoption and transformation initiatives
- Strong experience managing multi-disciplinary technical teams.
- Proven track record delivering projects to agreed scope, budget and schedule.
- Experience operating within Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Strong project planning, forecasting and financial management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Project Online.
- Experience working within a Microsoft Solutions Partner or IT Services organisation.
- Experience delivering cloud migration and modern workplace transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of Microsoft security solutions including Defender, Purview and Sentinel.
- Experience using Projector PSA or similar Professional Services Automation tools.
- Familiarity with Azure landing zones, cloud governance and operational readiness programmes.
- Microsoft certifications such as:
- Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
- Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
- Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305)
- Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900)
- Strong delivery leadership and programme management capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and customer engagement skills.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Infrastructure and Cloud technologies.
- Exceptional planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong risk, issue and dependency management capability.
- Commercially aware with strong financial management experience.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Results-oriented with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
