Senior Project Manager – Education Sector

About Mace Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Our values shape the way we consult and the kind of people we want to join us.

The Project

Mace has an extensive track record in the education sector, collaborating with schools, colleges, local authorities, and central government. We deliver ‘landmarks for learning’ nationwide, creating sustainable, flexible, and future-proof spaces that adapt to evolving needs.

As the leading consultant for the Department for Education (DfE), we’re currently driving projects under all principal capital programmes, including:

  • Schools Rebuilding Programme (SRP)
  • Free schools
  • Special Educational Needs (SEN) facilities
  • Further Education (colleges)

We’ll lead high-performing multidisciplinary teams, supporting new build, refurbishment, remodelling, and carbon reduction schemes. With integrated services—design, cost, information management, sustainability, and health and safety—we provide end-to-end, accountable deliverables.

The Role

You’ll be a client-facing Senior Project Manager responsible for strategy development, design phases, contractor appointment, and contract management. Your focus will be on property objectives, aligning projects to our clients’ goals, and embedding best practices like BIM, off-site construction, soft landings, social value creation, and skills development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
