Senior Project Manager – EHV Cabling (Up to 400kV)
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
Job Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Site-Based
About the Role
We are supporting a leading Power Transmission & Distribution business in the appointment of a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of major EHV cabling and power infrastructure projects across the UK.
This is a key site-based position, offering the opportunity to take ownership of complex, high-value projects from initial mobilization through to commissioning and final handover. You will work closely with engineering, construction, commercial and commissioning teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of EHV cabling projects up to 400kV.
- Take overall responsibility from project mobilisation through to commissioning and handover.
- Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and delivery milestones.
- Coordinate multiple project workstreams and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Engineering & Operational Management
- Oversee HV/EHV cabling, overhead line and/or substation-related works.
- Coordinate engineering, construction and commissioning activities.
- Work closely with technical teams to resolve project issues and maintain progress.
- Ensure delivery aligns with business objectives and project requirements.

Commercial & Risk Management
- Maintain strong control over project budgets, forecasting and financial performance.
- Identify and manage commercial, operational and delivery risks.
- Manage project contracts, variations, performance requirements and commercial obligations.
- Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure contractual and delivery requirements are met.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Lead communication between internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers and external partners.
- Provide clear leadership and direction to project teams.
- Maintain a collaborative and high-performance project environment.
Health, Safety & Quality
- Ensure all project activities comply with Health, Safety, Quality and environmental requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the project.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, company procedures and best practice.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in HV/EHV power infrastructure.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience delivering large-scale power, utilities or energy infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience within HV/EHV environments, ideally covering cabling, overhead lines and/or substations.
- Demonstrable experience managing projects at voltages up to 400kV.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets and financial performance.
- Proven experience managing subcontractors and complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong understanding of project contracts and performance management.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience delivering EHV cabling schemes.
- Experience within EPC, major infrastructure or power transmission environments.
- Experience contributing to tenders or winning major infrastructure projects.
- APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification.
