Senior Project Manager – Extra Low Voltage Systems (ELVS) - £95k - £100k per annum + Benefits – Central London

The Opportunity

We’re currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join an established Tier 1 M&E contractor working on a major ELVS (Extra Low Voltage Systems) project in the City of London.

The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for managing the delivery of a complex, multi-discipline ELVS package through pre-construction, installation, commissioning and final handover.

The project incorporates a broad range of intelligent building technologies, including:

  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Energy Management Systems (EMS)
  • Security Systems
  • Communications & Network Systems (CNS)
  • Smart Building Technologies
  • Master Systems Integration (MSI)

This is a senior-level opportunity suited to an experienced Project Manager who is confident leading large-scale ELVS or MEP projects and managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary project team, including:
    • Planners
    • Quantity Surveyors
    • Subcontractor Project Managers
    • Project Engineers
    • Software Engineers
    • Installation and Commissioning Teams
  • Provide clear direction, set objectives, and drive accountability across the project team.
  • Mentor and support team members to ensure effective delivery and professional development.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple disciplines, ensuring programme, technical, and commercial objectives are aligned.

Programme & Project Controls

  • Develop, validate, and manage the project baseline programme.
  • Monitor progress against key milestones and provide accurate forecasts.
  • Chair regular programme and look-ahead meetings.
  • Identify potential clashes, delays, and resource constraints and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Manage Early Warning Notices and Delay Notices in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Ensure project activities remain aligned with overall programme requirements.

Commercial & Contractual Management

  • Work closely with the Quantity Surveyor to maintain effective cost control.
  • Monitor expenditure, forecasts, valuations, and variations.
  • Review subcontractor costs and negotiate variations where required.
  • Manage commercial and contractual issues to protect project profitability.
  • Ensure contractual deliverables, reports, payment applications, and final accounts are completed within required timescales.

Risk, Quality & Compliance

  • Lead project-level risk reviews and workshops.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, commercial, programme, and delivery risks.
  • Ensure project quality procedures are implemented and maintained.
  • Promote and enforce high standards of health, safety, and compliance.
  • Conduct regular site audits and ensure non-conformances are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality throughout installation, commissioning, and handover.

Commissioning & Handover

  • Oversee integrated testing and commissioning across the various ELVS disciplines.
  • Coordinate software integration, controls, and network commissioning activities.
  • Manage the production and completion of commissioning documentation.
  • Coordinate client training and ensure O&M documentation is delivered to the required standard.
  • Drive an efficient and well-organized handover process.
  • Lead post-handover reviews and ensure all outstanding contractual obligations are successfully closed out.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Proven experience managing large-scale ELVS, MEP, or intelligent building projects in London.
  • A strong track record of successfully leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple specialist work packages.
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
  • Experience managing programmes, project controls, and key project milestones.
  • Competence using project planning tools such as MS Project or Asta Powerproject.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable Experience

Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

  • Intelligent Buildings and smart building technologies.
  • Integrated BMS / EMS systems.
  • Master Systems Integration (MSI).
  • BIM workflows and digital-twin platforms.
  • Sustainability standards including BREEAM and NABERS.
  • Complex commercial or high-specification developments within central London.
