Senior Project Manager – Major Projects £550 per day | Inside IR35 | 3–6 Months

Morden, South London | Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite

Intec Select is supporting a large government-backed enterprise organisation currently undertaking a significant transformation and investment programme across its property and built environment portfolio.

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager – Major Projects to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex capital, redevelopment and construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of highly visible programmes, with responsibility for major contracts valued up to approximately £35m.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Major Projects, you will take responsibility for projects from initial concept and business case through design, procurement, construction and successful completion.

Responsibilities

  • Leading complex capital and redevelopment projects from inception through to completion.
  • Managing projects against programme, budget, quality and strategic objectives.
  • Managing project budgets and financial resources.
  • Commissioning and managing architects, consultants, contractors and other professional teams.
  • Managing construction and consultancy contracts.
  • Developing project plans, risk registers, governance and reporting.
  • Managing risks, issues and dependencies and taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Supporting procurement and contract-management activities.
  • Identifying and securing appropriate project funding.
  • Reporting into project boards, senior leadership and other governance forums.
  • Managing relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and the wider community.
  • Supporting benefits realisation and ensuring projects deliver against strategic outcomes.

Experience Required

You will ideally have:

  • Significant experience delivering major construction, capital or redevelopment projects.
  • End-to-end experience across inception, design, planning, tender, construction and completion.
  • Strong experience managing complex construction and consultancy contracts.
  • Excellent commercial, financial and project-governance capability.
  • Experience working with multiple senior stakeholders and professional disciplines.
  • Previous local-government/public-sector experience would be highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in project management, construction, architecture or building surveying would be advantageous.

£550 per day | Inside IR35 | Initial 3–6 month assignment | Hybrid – Morden
