Who are MCR
MCR is a successful and entrepreneurial property development and investment company operating across the UK, with an active pipeline in excess of 9,000 residential units. From offices in Manchester, London, Birmingham, and Edinburgh, MCR is heavily involved in the acquisition, promotion, and delivery of high-quality residential and commercial developments nationwide.
A defining feature of MCR's delivery model is the use of an in-house contracting arm for all major projects, allowing the business to retain full control over quality, programme, and cost. As a result of continued growth and an expanding development pipeline, the contracting division is now seeking capable and experienced Project Managers at various levels to support the delivery of a diverse range of projects.
About The Role
MCR has recently acquired a large building in central Glasgow that will undergo a significant refurbishment and upgrade. We are therefore seeking a Senior Project Manager with the experience and capability to oversee the full delivery of this scheme, managing both MCR's own direct labour force and appointed subcontractors. The project is anticipated to run for approximately 18 to 24 months, after which the successful candidate will have the opportunity to move onto further projects across Scotland. These will include both new-build developments and refurbishment schemes, offering long-term progression and variety for the right individual.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
