Role Objectives
The Project Manager (Compliance) is a delivery-focused role within Global Technology, responsible for leading complex compliance technology initiatives from definition through to implementation and operational handover. The role acts as the bridge between compliance, legal, business and technical teams, ensuring that requirements are clearly understood, delivery plans are realistic, risks and dependencies are actively managed, and solutions are implemented in line with business, regulatory and governance expectations. The focus area for the role may evolve over time as compliance priorities, technology platforms and delivery models change.
The role is responsible for:
- Defining, documenting and successfully delivering compliance technology projects, typically involving complex business processes, regulatory requirements, technical dependencies and cross-functional stakeholder groups.
- Managing project scope, plans, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, budgets and change control to ensure delivery remains aligned to agreed time, cost, quality and governance expectations.
- Co-ordinating business, compliance, legal, product, architecture, engineering, testing and operational teams to support the successful implementation and adoption of compliance solutions.

Responsible for:
- Leading the planning and delivery of compliance technology projects, ensuring business, regulatory and technical objectives are translated into clear delivery plans, milestones and outcomes.
- Managing delivery across multiple workstreams and teams, including internal technology teams, third-party suppliers, business stakeholders and operational owners.
- Maintaining strong project governance, including RAID management, delivery reporting, financial tracking, change control, decision logs and escalation routes.

Duties:
- Plan, direct and co-ordinate end-to-end compliance technology delivery, from initiation and requirements definition through design, build, testing, deployment and transition to support.
- Work with compliance, legal and business stakeholders to understand regulatory obligations, process requirements, local variations and operational impacts, translating these into actionable delivery plans.
- Partner with product, architecture, engineering, data, testing, security and service teams to ensure technical feasibility, solution alignment and delivery readiness.
- Maintain integrated project plans, sprint or delivery milestones, dependency maps, RAID logs, governance packs and status reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Identify, manage and escalate risks, issues and blockers, ensuring mitigation plans are agreed and tracked through to resolution.
- Support agile and hybrid delivery practices, including backlog refinement, prioritisation, sprint planning, acceptance criteria, test coordination and release readiness.
- Ensure project outputs are delivered in line with compliance governance, change control, information security, auditability and operational readiness requirements.
- Drive adoption and business readiness by supporting stakeholder engagement, communications, training inputs, process documentation and handover activity.
- Work effectively with global stakeholders and delivery teams across different time zones, demonstrating flexibility where needed.
Knowledge, qualifications and experience
- Proven experience managing complex technology projects, ideally within compliance, risk, regulatory, legal, onboarding, identity, data, workflow or enterprise platform environments.
- Strong understanding of project delivery lifecycle, including requirements definition, solution design, development, testing, deployment, change control and transition to support.
- Experience working with agile or hybrid delivery methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog management, RAID management and senior stakeholder reporting.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory, business and technical requirements into clear delivery plans, actions and decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and compliance concepts clearly to business, operational and senior stakeholder audiences.
- Comfortable working in temporary, matrixed and cross-functional teams, with the confidence to challenge, influence and keep delivery moving through ambiguity.
- Experience working with geographically dispersed teams or global stakeholders, with the flexibility to accommodate occasional meetings or delivery activity outside core local working hours where required.
