Through our specialist divisions - topside, marine, subsea, cables, logistics and industrials, we are a pivotal link in the global offshore energy project chain, ensuring our customers’ projects are delivered safely, reliably and efficiently. We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Subsea Division.
Location
Aberdeen, United Kingdom (Hybrid).
Contract
Full-time, permanent.
Core Purpose
Responsible for the successful execution of projects by providing guidance and support to all aspects of a project.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Ensure safe, efficient and profitable execution of projects, as allocated by the Head of Projects.
- Co-ordinate with Commercial Department to ensure a smooth handover of the project from tendering to operational phase.
- Ensure lessons learned from previous projects are implemented where applicable.
- Ensure awareness, understanding and control of all commercial and technical matters relating to the content of the project and contract.
- Ensure proper budgetary control on all project costs; prepare/review and approve invoices; recover costs from third parties where appropriate; deal effectively with any client invoicing disputes.
- If required, ensure a planning document is prepared and maintained throughout the execution phase of the project.
- Liaise with other Project Managers and internal Department Managers on coordination for requested services.
- Ensure that all risks in projects are identified, assessed and recorded in the HIRA project risk register and that mitigation plans are formulated, pursued and documented.
- Review and approve project documentation.
- Implement the Company’s QHSE Management Systems throughout all phases of the project and be responsible for compliance with ISO and other applicable national standards such as SCC (VCA) and ISO standards.
- Ensure project reporting is properly managed, and delivered, in accordance with internal and the client specifications.
- Conduct Management Site Visits during the execution of the project.
- Conduct project close-outs including lessons learned sessions and capturing client feedback.
- Provide regular reporting to the Head of Projects on the status and progress of the project.
- As requested by the Head of Projects, assist with mentoring new or less experienced Project Managers with the aim to support the employee’s development whilst safeguarding the company’s culture.
- Sharing knowledge and historical lessons learned from previously executed projects within the wider Project Manager team.
- Provide input to tenders and contract negotiations in support of the Commercial Department.
- Liaise with the commercial department to identify and coordinate opportunities for engagement with existing clients, including client visits.
- Report to Commercial Director for such activities.

- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ability to coordinate, manage and communicate information accurately and efficiently.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage workloads effectively.
- Good IT skills and confidence using a range of systems and software.
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role or in project management within the offshore/subsea industry
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with offshore industry best practices, standards, and applicable legislation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Qualifications
- A higher degree in a relevant technical discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
- Project Management certification.
