Senior Project Manager
A manufacturing company in Somerset has a requirement for a Senior Project Manager who has experience of managing the delivery of complex Electro-Mechanical Products/Systems from concept design and development through to production and delivery. These products have advanced Control Systems / Software.
Because this person is coming in as the Primary Delivery Lead, applicants must have:
- Significant experience of managing complex technical programmes or projects spanning multiple phases/years to time, spec, and cost and have experience in managing projects with software content.
- A degree in a suitable Technical/Engineering/Science discipline.
- A recognised Project or Programme Management Qualification (e.g. APM PMQ, Prince2), or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience of influencing and managing across global teams.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills at multiple organisational levels.
- Proven ability to analyse complex programme requirements and generate a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) as part of high-level programme definition.
- Experience of project planning tools (such as Microsoft Project), processes and methodologies.
- Experience of RAID logs (Risk, Actions, Issues and Decisions).
- Ability to set the standard and hold people accountable to deliver.
- Proven Leadership skills and willingness to take ownership and control of a situation and bring people with them even though they may not functionally report to them.

Responsibilities
- Deliver assigned projects in alignment with programme objectives, portfolio priorities, and company governance.
- Project complexity may include platform development, first of kind technologies, multi-site projects, and/or high-risk/strategic developments.
- Act as the primary delivery lead for project scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality.
- Translate programme direction and requirements into executable project plans and Work Breakdown Structures.
- Manage day-to-day execution of cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
- Maintain and manage RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions), ensuring timely mitigation and escalation to Programme Manager.
- Provide clear, consistent, and accurate project reporting into programme governance forums.
- Manage project-level change control in line with programme governance and ensure alignment to evolving requirements.
- Identify and communicate resource needs, constraints, and impacts, escalating conflicts to the Programme Manager.
- Lead, mentor project managers and associate project managers.
- Support and provide coaching on best practices within project management.

Salary and Location
- Salary is up to £63K, plus benefits
- Hybrid – Working onsite 3 days per week in Clevedon (Somerset), and 2 days working from home.
