Overview

As a Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership and accountability for some of PM Group’s most complex and high-profile projects. While this role sits within our UK operations, many of our clients are multinational organisations, providing the opportunity to work across international project teams and take accountability for project delivery in a global environment.

Based from any of our UK offices (Birmingham, Manchester, or Edinburgh)

This is a key and highly visible opportunity within PM Group, playing an important role in the continued success and growth of our UK business. You will provide leadership across the full project lifecycle, working closely with clients, project teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver safe, high-quality, and commercially successful projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the proposal effort, defining PM Group’s scope, project execution strategy, programme, and commercial approach, including EPCM delivery models.
  • Lead the safe and effective delivery of projects across the full lifecycle, ensuring alignment with PM Group’s Service Delivery Platforms, Quality Management System, and project governance requirements.
  • Develop, manage, and agree project schedules, budgets, and PM Group fee budgets, ensuring key milestones, hours, and commercial targets are achieved.
  • Identify project resource requirements and coordinate with resource owners to ensure appropriate multidisciplinary teams are mobilised at the right time.
  • Lead and coordinate design activities across all disciplines, including interfaces with sub-consultants, contractors, suppliers, and site teams.
  • Establish and manage Client, sub-consultant, and construction contracts, ensuring appropriate commercial and contractual arrangements are in place.
  • Establish effective change control and risk management processes, identifying, assessing, and mitigating project and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, Client, and PM Group requirements, including Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Lead, motivate, and direct multidisciplinary project teams, including sub-consultants and external partners, providing clear direction and fostering a high-performance project culture.
  • Provide clear and timely project reporting to PM Group Management and Clients, covering progress, cost, schedule, risks, trends, commercial performance, and areas of concern.
  • Lead project close-out activities, including handover, certification, lessons learned, project metrics, and final documentation, while providing mentoring and support to the wider Project Management Team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
