Senior Project Manager (Palestine)

Department: Campaigns

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Remote

Compensation: €4,000 - €5,000 / month

Description

Position overview

The Senior Project Manager owns operations execution and project management for the Palestine sub-team in coordination with Avaaz. This is a senior, hands-on delivery role: you will keep project workstreams on track, build the systems and reporting that give leadership visibility, ensure risk and security protocols are implemented, and turn strategy into reliable operational execution under real constraints.

You will coordinate and hold accountability across project owners rather than managing a team of direct reports. You are the person who makes sure deadlines are clear, blockers surface early, and work does not fall through the cracks. You report to the Thiqa project lead and work closely with project owners, Avaaz operations, HR and Finance teams, and partners on the ground.

Although the team works remotely most of the time, it is strongly preferred for this position to be in the West Bank, or that the candidate has a deep understanding of Palestine and who has worked there.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central coordination point for the team, ensuring deadlines, deliverables, and priorities are clear, owned, and met across all project streams.
  • Track and manage progress across concurrent projects, keeping a single reliable source of truth for status, owners, and next steps.
  • Run the cadence: prepare and lead key project meetings, and follow up with each owner afterwards so momentum and deadlines hold.
  • Prepare and share weekly project dashboards summarising status, blockers, risks, and next steps for leadership.
  • Support and coordinate project owners rather than replacing them, stepping in directly only when a gap would otherwise stall delivery.
  • Ensure security protocols are followed.
  • Support donor cultivation and fundraising efforts.
  • Coordinate cross-team and cross-organisational collaboration, including with partners and Avaaz departments.
  • Track operational KPIs such as throughput and survey progress, and keep them visible.
  • Build and maintain reporting that gives leadership real-time visibility into operational health.
  • Use data to flag risks early and drive evidence-based decisions on prioritisation and resourcing.
  • Design and document lightweight standard operating procedures (SOPs) that fit how the team actually works, so quality and consistency hold as the team scales.
  • Analyse workflows to remove friction, cut cycle times, and reduce operational cost.
  • Select and set up practical tooling to support project tracking and reduce manual work, matched to the team's context and adoption capacity.
  • Support the operational delivery of team events and gatherings, in a high-security context.
  • Anticipate operational risk, build contingency plans, and pivot quickly when conditions change.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Projects run on time with clear ownership; leadership has an accurate, current view of status and risk at any moment; blockers are caught early rather than at the deadline; and the team operates on systems that hold up under pace and pressure.

Why this role matters to leadership

For the director of this project, this role acts as a force multiplier rather than another layer to manage. By owning the operational cadence, tracking, and follow-through, the Project Manager frees leadership from day-to-day delivery mechanics and lets them focus on strategy, external relationships, and high-stakes decisions. Leadership gains a trusted second set of eyes across every workstream, someone who translates direction into action, surfaces risk before it becomes a crisis, and ensures accountability holds even without formal authority over project owners. In a high-constraint, high-security environment, this means the project lead can trust that operations are being actively managed and de-risked, even when they are not in the room.

Skills and Competencies

  • The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in project management and operations delivery, ideally within a fast-paced, mission-driven, or international organisation.
  • They have owned delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams and are comfortable holding others accountable without formal authority over them.
  • Proven project management. Track record of keeping complex, multi-stream projects on time, with the judgement to prioritise under pressure.
  • Systems and process builder. Has designed SOPs, reporting, and workflows that people actually adopt, and can right-size them to the team rather than over-engineering.
  • Operates under constraint. Stays composed and keeps delivery moving in a high-stakes, unpredictable environment; strong on contingency and rapid re-planning.
  • Accountability with empathy. Skilled at follow-up and delegation tracking; holds the line on deadlines while navigating people and context with emotional intelligence.
  • Communication. Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Arabic.
  • Tech-comfortable. Fluent in project-tracking and collaboration tools; experience with Asana, Slack, and Google Suite is a plus but not required.
