Senior Project Manager - Procurement Transformation

Duration: Initial 6 Months

Location: Reading or Dublin (Hybrid)

Contract Type: Day Rate (Inside IR35)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of an existing Procurement Transformation programme focused on improving spend control, delivering cost optimisation initiatives, and enhancing procurement governance across the organisation.

Working closely with the Procurement team, Finance, and key business stakeholders, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving project delivery, coordinating transformation activities, and ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to business objectives. This role is ideally suited to a delivery-focused Project Manager with experience in procurement transformation and cost restructuring/reduction, or operational improvement programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of a Procurement Transformation programme focused on spend management and cost optimisation.
  • Manage project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and actions.
  • Coordinate delivery across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at increasing spend visibility and strengthening procurement controls.
  • Support the implementation of improved procurement processes, governance frameworks, and operating procedures.
  • Track benefits realisation, including cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Facilitate project governance meetings and provide status reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve delivery risks and blockers.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Finance, Commercial, and Operational teams to ensure successful delivery of transformation objectives.
  • Support business change and adoption activities as new processes and controls are implemented.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience delivering complex transformation projects.
  • Experience supporting procurement transformation, cost restructuring/reduction, or operational improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, spend management, sourcing, supplier management, and governance.
  • Experience managing project plans, governance, RAID logs, dependencies, and reporting.
  • Demonstrable stakeholder management skills across business and senior leadership teams.
  • Experience tracking project benefits and supporting delivery of measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Procurement Transformation experience within large corporate environments.
  • PRINCE2, Agile, PMP, MSP, or equivalent project management qualifications.
