Senior Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor
Location: Manchester
About ARTAL
ARTAL is a multi disciplinary construction and property consultancy delivering Project Management, Cost Consultancy, Employer's Agent and Fund Monitoring services across the UK. We work with developers, investors, funders and occupiers to deliver high quality residential, commercial, mixed use and regeneration projects, providing commercially focused advice from project inception through to completion.
The Role
Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our Manchester office.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys taking ownership of projects, building lasting client relationships, and delivering exceptional commercial and project management services across a diverse range of developments.
The successful candidate will lead projects from feasibility through to completion, providing strategic advice, commercial management and project leadership while mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple construction projects from inception to completion.
- Provide full pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying services.
- Prepare cost plans, estimates, procurement strategies and tender documentation.
- Manage procurement processes and contractor appointments.
- Prepare valuations, cost reports, change control and final accounts.
- Act as Project Manager and/or Employer's Agent where required.
- Manage project programmes, risk registers and reporting.
- Coordinate design teams, contractors and client stakeholders.
- Chair project meetings and produce accurate project documentation.
- Monitor project performance against programme, quality and budget objectives.
- Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for repeat business.
- Support the development and mentoring of junior surveyors and project managers.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Project Management or a related discipline.
- Chartered (MRICS) or working towards chartership.
- Minimum 7+ years' experience within a consultancy environment.
- Excellent commercial awareness and cost management expertise.
- Proven experience delivering residential, commercial or mixed-use developments.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Full UK driving licence.

- Employer's Agent experience.
- Fund Monitoring experience.
- Experience across high-rise residential or large-scale regeneration schemes.
- Knowledge of Building Safety legislation.
- Proficiency with CostX, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.
