The Role
The Senior Project Manager is a key leadership role responsible for delivering complex customer and internal product development projects from bid through to successful delivery. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and act as the bridge between strategic objectives and project execution. This role requires a proactive, adaptable leader who can balance innovation, customer success, and business performance while making a significant impact on project delivery and organisational growth.
What will I be delivering?
- Align project outcomes with business objectives, ensuring all activities support strategic goals, customer requirements, commercial targets, and long-term business growth.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure expectations are understood and achieved.
- Leading and motivating cross-functional project teams, providing clear direction, accountability, and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Forecasting and managing project resource requirements to ensure appropriate skills and capacity are available to meet delivery commitments.
- Developing, maintaining, and reporting detailed project schedules using MS Project, ensuring milestones, dependencies, and critical paths are effectively managed.
- Managing project budgets, cost forecasting, and financial performance to maximise revenue, cash flow, and profitability.
- Identifying, assessing, and managing project risks and issues, implementing effective mitigation and contingency plans to minimise impact on delivery.
- Managing internal and customer-driven change requests, ensuring scope, cost, schedule, and quality impacts are assessed and controlled.
- Ensuring all projects are delivered in compliance with contractual requirements, regulatory obligations, company processes, and quality standards.
- Managing the full engineering project lifecycle, from opportunity assessment and bid support through development, verification, validation, and delivery, following Concurrent's structured stage-gate review process.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to less experienced Project Managers, supporting their professional development, sharing best practice, and contributing to the overall capability and maturity of the project management function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
