A Snapshot of Your Day
In this pivotal role within the Project Management team of our Grid Technologies, Substations division, you will lead a dedicated group of project professionals tasked with delivering substation projects for key clients across the UK and Ireland. Your day-to-day activities will involve mentoring your team, ensuring they are equipped to meet project goals while fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. You will interact closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
As a Team Leader, you will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning through to execution and delivery, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your leadership will be crucial in navigating challenges and driving the team towards success, making a significant impact on our business continuity and growth.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project professionals, setting clear goals and conducting performance reviews to foster a collaborative environment.
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of substation projects, ensuring adherence to scope, time, budget, and quality standards.
- Implement and manage project governance frameworks, including detailed scheduling, risk management, and change control processes.
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders, managing relationships and expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project budgets, including forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting to ensure project margins are protected.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurately created, maintained, and archived according to internal and client requirements.

What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical) or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects, ideally within the energy, power transmission, or substation construction sectors.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience in supervising professional-level employees and fostering team development.
- Proficiency in formal project management methodologies, such as Project Management Institute (PMI) standards.
- Demonstrable commercial acumen, including experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and stakeholder negotiation.
- Excellent skills in project and process management, risk management, and resource allocation.
