Role Overview

Working closely with project managers, suppliers and commercial teams, the role focuses on building, maintaining and analysing Primavera-based schedules, challenging assumptions and driving corrective actions where needed. The position offers the opportunity to apply strong planning expertise while exploring how data and AI can enhance project controls and reporting.
The role is based in Tamworth, with an expectation of four days per week on-site.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and update construction schedules in Oracle Primavera Cloud (or P6) for a large portfolio of small capital projects.
- Work with project managers and supply chain partners to create realistic, logically linked and resource‑loaded baseline programmes.
- Monitor progress against baselines, analyse variances and perform regular DCMA 14‑point schedule health checks to identify and resolve logic and quality issues.
- Report programme status and progress against AMP/regulatory commitments, ensuring milestones and outputs are clearly traceable for submissions.
- Identify schedule risks, critical path changes and slippage, escalating issues promptly and constructively challenging contractor and supplier programmes where required.
- Produce clear progress reports, dashboards and programme summaries for project, programme and senior management, aligning schedule data with cost and earned value reporting.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
