Job Opportunity: Experienced Project Planner

Are you an experienced Project Planner looking to play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of complex, high-value projects? Vickerstock are working in partnership with a highly successful construction company in Co. Armagh who, due to continued growth, are now seeking an experienced Project Planner / Programmer to strengthen their project delivery team.

Our client has an outstanding reputation for quality, craftsmanship, and innovation. They partner with globally recognised clients to deliver technically challenging projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project programmes from design through to manufacture and installation.
  • Create fully integrated schedules that align design, procurement, production, and site activities.
  • Identify critical paths, milestones, and key project dependencies.
  • Monitor programme performance, providing regular updates and ensuring schedules accurately reflect live project progress.
  • Identify programme risks, delays, and resource constraints, implementing effective mitigation strategies where required.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure programme alignment across all functions.
  • Produce clear programme reports and progress updates for both internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Promote best practice in project planning while contributing to the continuous improvement of planning processes and standards.

About You

You'll be an organised and commercially aware planning professional who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience in a Project Planning, Project Controls, or Project Programming role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 (or equivalent planning software).
  • Experience managing programmes across complex design, manufacturing, and installation projects.
  • The ability to coordinate multiple concurrent work streams and manage project relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable

  • PRINCE2, PMP, or another recognised project management qualification.
  • Experience of resource planning and cost tracking.
  • Knowledge of additional project planning or PPM software.
