Senior Project Planner
Our client, an oil and gas services company specializing in well life cycle management, is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Project Planner based in Aberdeen. This is a permanent staff position.
Role
Working with the Project & Operations teams, implementing robust plans that capture key activities and timelines to facilitate efficient and effective delivery of operational scopes and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Consulting with Company’s Accountable People, Project team, and client team to create and maintain project plans and schedules across company projects and assets, including resource requirements in alignment with the Project Management Framework.
- Coordinating project timelines with internal teams and external stakeholders to communicate asset availability and deliverables.
- Analyzing operational daily and weekly plans to ensure execution logic and identifying areas of efficiency or risk.
- Managing change and updates to project schedules, ensuring they are accurate and reflect current project status.
- Evaluating performance against baseline plans and preparing project progress reports to relevant departments and stakeholders.
- Consulting with management to identify potential resource requirements based on planned timelines and resource availability.
- Mentoring of team members to enhance skills and knowledge capabilities across the planning function.

- Project schedule style and delivery compliant with stakeholder requirements.
- Efficient Asset and resource allocation across project and operational teams.
- Understanding of risk and opportunity for planned activity.
- Business-wide clarity and understanding of current and planned project and operational activity.
Safety Leadership
Prioritizes safety first and actively intervenes to prevent safety incidents. Can articulate why safety is important to the organization and complies with all organization safety standards and guidance through an understanding of risk and the importance of re-dosing hazards, whilst looking for opportunities through their role to improve safety. Holds those that do not comply with relevant safety standards to account.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- In-depth knowledge and use of planning software such as MS Project/ Primavera.
- Self-starter who uses their initiative.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate data.
- Ability to prioritize and identify upcoming problems/ schedule constraints.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative approach to delivery.
