About The Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to complement our team at Lockheed Martin UK – Strategic Systems based from Helensburgh. This role benefits from our 4xFlex working pattern, offering a 4-day working week Monday - Thursday and hybrid working with typically 1-2 days a week working from home.

As our Senior Project Planner you'll play a key role in developing the future planning architecture for LMUK SS contract outputs. You will work alongside senior stakeholders to bridge the gap between high-level strategy and daily operations. You will take ownership of this complex project lifecycle, from proposal to execution, helping deliver some of the UK’s most complex and innovative engineering programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the end-to-end lifecycle of planning and schedule management in support of programme capture and execution.
  • Refine and manage the Integrated Master Plan for LMUK SS’ contract renewal effort.
  • Lead proposal preparation planning, including development of planning artefacts for solicitation response. Interfaces with program management, senior management and the contractual customer as the programs planning integrator.
  • Manage the validation of cost and schedule integration for effective program performance management.
  • Proactively identify commercial risks, establish mitigation strategies, and adjust timelines as needed.
  • Gather progress data and generate robust reports tracking actuals against baseline forecasts.
  • Ensure all deliverables are compliant with LM's command media.
  • Manage the resolution of schedule conflicts, develops and implements work-around strategies and tactical alternatives.
  • Support to business rhythms.
  • Manage the generation of Schedule Information for client and management reviews.

The successful candidate must achieve the appropriate level (DV) of security clearance.

Required Skills, Qualifications And Experience

  • Significant experience as Senior Project Planner or similar Project Planning role
  • Experience of Microsoft Project, or similar Project Planning software
  • Experience of managing Resource loaded Schedules
  • Awareness of Earned Value Management and Critical Path Management
  • A confident individual who will ensure that best planning practice is always adhered to, even in occasional pressurised situations
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new tools, systems, and processes

Desired Skills

  • Experienced in Earned Value Management
  • Experience of cost planning & reporting
  • Background in Defence, MoD, or other complex engineering environments
