Senior Planner – SC Security Clearance - Major Infrastructure Programmes
Senior Project Planner, ideally with current SC Security clearance or be eligible, with excellent planning skills using Primavera P6 supporting complex major infrastructure and construction projects.
The Senior Project Planner role is with a specialist project services consultancy, appointing experienced Senior / Lead Planners to work across major infrastructure and regulated-sector programmes.
About the Role
These are mid-senior to senior-level opportunities for planners who are comfortable working independently, engaging directly with clients, and taking ownership of planning outputs across complex projects.
Projects span sectors including nuclear, defence, utilities, energy, rail, highways, and major infrastructure.
Essential Experience
- Strong, practical Primavera P6 experience.
- Mid-senior or senior-level planning experience.
- Experience building, managing, and interrogating programmes rather than simply updating them.
- A background in construction, infrastructure, or regulated environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The confidence to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
- Current SC Security Clearance or the ability to obtain SC security clearance.
- Experience across nuclear, defence, utilities, water, energy, rail, or highways would be particularly relevant.
- Experience in project controls, risk, cost, resource loading, or earned value management would also be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
- Developing, maintaining, and assuring programmes using Primavera P6.
- Building logic-driven programmes from concept and early-stage planning through to delivery.
- Providing schedule analysis, progress reporting, and planning insight.
- Identifying risks, dependencies, clashes, and potential impacts to delivery.
- Leading planning meetings, workshops, and stakeholder sessions.
- Working with senior client stakeholders through to site-based delivery teams.
- Supporting cost/resource loading, earned value, and wider project controls where required.
- Challenging assumptions and providing practical planning advice.
- Helping to improve planning capability within client teams.
- Representing the consultancy professionally when working on client sites.

Location & Travel
- UK-wide with hybrid working and access to offices across the UK.
- Projects can be located across the North West, South West, North East, Reading, and other UK locations.
- Client-site attendance will typically be up to 2 days per week, depending on the project.
- Travel, mileage, accommodation, and subsistence are covered.
