Commercial Surveyor
My award-winning client is looking for an exceptional commercial Surveyor to join their Property Management team. Working as part of a team of experienced surveyors, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of one of the UK’s leading retail and leisure destinations, with opportunities to support senior directors on other major instructions.
This is a hands-on role offering significant responsibility, client exposure and the opportunity to build strong relationships with retailers, occupiers and on-site teams.
Key Responsibilities
You will act as a principal point of contact for the surveying and property management aspects of the scheme. Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking a hands-on approach to the day-to-day management of the property.
- Undertaking regular property inspections and ensuring appropriate follow-up actions.
- Managing sensitive property and client data.
- Preparing and delivering clear, accurate client reporting.
- Managing lease information and ensuring lease events and obligations are effectively monitored.
- Managing service charge budgets in accordance with RICS standards and best practice.
- Overseeing arrears and debt collection, including working directly with retailers where required.
- Monitoring cash flow and supporting the financial management of the property.
- Overseeing the commercialisation strategy across the scheme and identifying opportunities to enhance income and performance.
- Supporting sustainability initiatives and environmental projects across the property.
- Working closely with senior directors and specialist teams to deliver client objectives and strategic projects.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with retailers and occupiers, including discussions around debt management, trading performance and opportunities to refresh or improve retail spaces.
- Providing commercially focused recommendations and advice to the client.
- Working closely with the on-site management team to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the scheme.
- Supporting initiatives designed to increase footfall, sales and overall customer experience within a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
- Making regular site visits and using time on site effectively to identify opportunities, resolve issues and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.

About You
My client is looking for a proactive, commercially minded property professional who is confident managing complex assets and building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience within the property management sector, with specific experience managing shopping centres, retail parks or similar large-scale assets.
- Strong knowledge of lease management and property accounting principles.
- Experience managing service charges and an understanding of relevant RICS standards and best practice.
- Excellent attention to detail and a practical, pragmatic approach to property management.
- A strong understanding of client care and the ability to build trusted, long-term relationships.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- The confidence and initiative to work autonomously while also contributing positively to a wider team.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a professional telephone manner and strong report-writing ability.
- The ability to establish credibility and trust quickly with clients, retailers, colleagues and other stakeholders.
- A commercially aware mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities and contribute to the wider growth of the business.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Salary
