Head of Property / Senior Property Solicitor (7–8+ PQE)

Location: North London

Salary: c.£80,000 – £95,000+ DOE /PQE


Are you an accomplished Property Solicitor seeking a senior, departmental leadership role within a supportive and highly regarded practice? Our client is an established, Legal 500-ranked law firm situated in an affluent, accessible location in North London.

Recognised for their exceptional retention, client care, and positive firm culture, they are seeking a senior practitioner capable of managing a dual residential and commercial caseload while leading and developing the property department.


The Opportunity

This is a strategic appointment for a senior fee earner looking for a pivotal leadership role with genuine influence over departmental growth. Stepping into a well-run department with a strong pipeline of local, regional, and high-net-worth instructions, you will handle a balanced mix of residential conveyancing and commercial property transactions. Working alongside firm management, you will lead, mentor, and expand the property team, shaping operational strategy and driving practice development.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Qualifications & Dual Expertise: Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 7–8+ years PQE in UK private practice, demonstrating a strong track record across both residential conveyancing and commercial property.
  • Departmental Leadership: Proven capability to lead, mentor, and develop junior fee earners and support staff, driving team performance and service excellence.
  • Technical Mastery: Expertise in complex residential sales/purchases, high-value commercial leases, business acquisitions/disposals, development work, and landlord & tenant matters.
  • Commercial Drive: Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to high-touch client care, network building, and expanding the firm's regional market share.
