Senior Proposals Manager
We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Proposals Manager to join our Midlands construction business, based in Birmingham. This will be a hybrid role with a mix of remote and office-based working. Being an experienced Senior Proposals Manager, you will oversee our proposals and ensure the team is preparing high-quality bids that delight our customers.
We are committed to really understanding our customer’s needs, then developing sustainable solutions that are clearly articulated in customer-focussed, world-class submissions. You will partner with preconstruction managers, bid managers, and subject matter experts to create winning strategies for our varied bids and proposals across a range of sectors, including Education, Leisure, Commercial, Healthcare, Defence, and Blue Light.
The team collaborates to produce creative, well thought out content, and you will be able to create “the golden thread” and craft well written, engaging content to “wow” our customers and ultimately win projects. You will likely be comfortable representing our business and presenting your proposals to our customer when it's needed.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Support and oversee the proposals process in all aspects of the submission including identifying and assembling the people needed to produce and win the bid.
- Produce high-quality qualitative submissions on time and within budget.
- Effectively collaborate, coordinate, and lead proposal team contributor’s input.
- Work collaboratively with bid team and subject matter experts to identify and formulate proposal plan, schedule, and win strategies.
- Coordinate team inputs and lead answer review sessions.
- Manage the production of accurate, well-presented documentation for PQQ’s and tenders.
- Support the resolution of proposal development issues while overseeing production of proposal deliverables.
- Provide and implement creative ideas and initiatives into proposals, actioning any lessons learned.
- Assess technical and complex requirements, control, and shape the proposals.
- Contribute to the preparation of customer presentations to ensure they are customer and people focussed.
- Check progress and support team members.

Essential and Desirable Criteria
Essential
- Proven experience and success in a proposals or bid management role within the construction industry.
- Exceptional project management skills and ability to work with a large number of teams at once.
- Understanding of different proposals processes.
Desirable
- Experience leading or supporting with proposals for private-sector customers or developers in the construction industry
- Have or working towards a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) qualification
- APMP membership and accreditation.
- InDesign/Photoshop experience.
