We are working with a well-established national accountancy and advisory group to find a Senior Proposal Writer for their specialist grant funding team. The team has been helping organisations secure funding for more than 20 years, working with large corporates, SMEs, universities, public bodies and charities across the UK and internationally.
The focus here is EU funding, and Horizon Europe in particular. You'd be alongside clients from the first conversation right through to a signed grant agreement. That means working out which calls fit their project, shaping the idea into something fundable, and leading the proposal all the way to submission.
What you'd be doing
- Keeping a close eye on Horizon Europe and other EU programmes, and matching client projects to the right calls
- Running discovery sessions to understand a client's goals, capability and project idea
- Developing the project concept using logical frameworks, impact pathways and EU methodologies
- Setting the bid strategy, the timeline and who is responsible for what
- Managing the full submission, then supporting grant agreement preparation

What you'll bring
- A track record of successful grant applications, ideally including Horizon Europe
- The ability to turn complex technical content into clear narrative that's written to the scoring criteria
- Experience running a whole submission, document packaging included, against a fixed deadline
- Some experience of resubmitting after evaluator feedback
- Knowledge of grant agreement preparation, amendments, reporting and audit readiness
- Strong writing and editing skills, and a feel for telling a project's story well
