Senior Manager, Public Relations (12m FTC)
Opportunity to join a world-leading international law firm in a senior communications role, driving high-profile media relations activity that enhances reputation, strengthens market positioning and supports strategic business objectives.
Working as part of a global Brand & Communications team, this role will lead proactive and reactive media engagement, develop compelling PR campaigns and build strong relationships with key journalists across legal and business media. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in raising the profile of the firm, its practice groups and its lawyers through strategic storytelling and thought leadership.
Location: London – three days in the office, two from home
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver strategic media relations campaigns that support business and communications objectives.
- Lead proactive press outreach and manage reactive media enquiries across a broad range of topics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with legal, business and national media contacts.
- Identify and secure opportunities to raise the profile of the firm, its practices and individual lawyers.
- Develop key messaging and create high-quality communications materials including press releases, media statements, briefing documents and talking points.
- Manage award submissions, survey responses and other profile-raising initiatives.
- Create opportunities to amplify thought leadership through media engagement and commentary.
- Support the placement of bylined articles across target publications.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify newsworthy stories and communications opportunities.
- Work closely with digital and social media teams to maximise the visibility and impact of PR activity.
- Monitor media activity and provide insight and recommendations to support future communications planning.

Skills & Experience:
- Significant experience in public relations, corporate communications or media relations.
- Strong press office experience gained either in-house or within an agency environment.
- Excellent media contacts and proven success securing high-quality coverage.
- Outstanding writing, editing and storytelling skills.
- Strong understanding of media, branding, reputation management and thought leadership.
- Experience managing senior stakeholders and advising on communications strategy.
- Excellent organisational and project management capabilities.
- Experience within the legal sector or another professional services environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate effectively within a complex, global organisation.
