Senior Python AI Developer - Generative & Agentic AI
Python | FastAPI | AWS | LLMs | RAG | Agentic AI | DevOps
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000
Contract rate: c£475 per day
Location: London - Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
Employment: Permanent or Contract | 2 positions
We're recruiting two experienced Senior Python AI Developers to join a technology consultancy delivering enterprise-scale Generative and Agentic AI solutions for a major financial services client.
These are hands-on engineering opportunities focused on building core services, features, and capabilities for an enterprise-grade AI platform.
You'll combine strong Python backend development with LLM integration, AWS cloud technologies, and DevOps, working alongside experienced AI engineers, architects, and platform specialists to deliver secure, scalable, production-ready AI applications.
The Role
- Designing and developing Python backend services and APIs using FastAPI
- Building Generative AI, Agentic AI, and LLM-powered applications
- Developing RAG architectures, prompt orchestration, and AI evaluation tooling
- Integrating LLMs with enterprise applications and business workflows
- Working with AWS services including Bedrock, AgentCore, EKS, EC2, S3, and SQS
- Designing CI/CD pipelines, automation, and reusable microservices
- Supporting LLM benchmarking, performance monitoring, and cost optimization
- Integrating AI services with enterprise security and observability frameworks
- Collaborating with architects and platform engineers on scalable AI solutions

What We're Looking For
You'll be an experienced Python Developer or AI Engineer with strong backend engineering skills and practical experience developing Generative AI applications. We'd expect experience across a good mix of:
- Strong Python backend development and FastAPI
- Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Large Language Models
- RAG architectures, prompt orchestration, and vector search
- AWS cloud engineering, particularly Bedrock and AgentCore
- RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and automation
- LLM integration, evaluation, and performance optimization
- Secure application development and observability

Experience with Terraform, GitOps, Kong API Gateway, SQL/NoSQL databases, and AI evaluation tools such as Promptfoo or Arize would also be useful.
Previous experience working within financial services, insurance, or other regulated environments would be beneficial.

Ideally, you'll have 8+ years' commercial experience and be available immediately or within four weeks.
