Senior Python Developer - Finance
London | Hybrid - 3 days per week
£700/day Inside IR35 | 12-month contract
Permanent / FTC options also available
We're working on a number of new Senior Python Developer opportunities within a major Financial Services technology environment, supporting significant investment across trading, regulatory and enterprise engineering platforms.
These are long-term hires rather than short-term backfill, with multiple teams looking to bring in experienced Python Developers who are comfortable building business-critical applications in a complex banking environment.
You'll be working closely with engineering and business stakeholders to design, build and enhance Python applications supporting a mixture of markets, regulatory and front-office technology. Depending on the team, there may also be opportunities to work with AI-assisted development tooling, security-focused applications and new Proof of Concept initiatives.
The environment is fast-paced and engineering-led, so we're looking for people who can take ownership of their work, communicate well with stakeholders and contribute beyond simply picking up development tickets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
