About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Developer to join our dynamic team in London, working on a hybrid basis with three days in the office per week. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the modernization of critical banking technology platforms within one of the world's leading investment banks. As a Senior Python Developer, you will be instrumental in developing innovative applications that support global markets, regulatory compliance, front office operations, security initiatives, and AI-driven proof of concepts.
In this position, you will be working on projects that are at the forefront of financial technology, focusing on building scalable, high-performance, and secure systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement solutions that respond to the rapidly changing regulatory landscape and technological advancements, including artificial intelligence and machine learning. Your expertise will help shape the future of banking technology, ensuring systems are robust, compliant, and capable of supporting the bank’s strategic objectives.

This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in Python development within financial services or banking environments, particularly those familiar with regulatory technology, trading systems, front office applications, security engineering, or AI integrations. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive set of qualifications, including:
- Proven experience as a Python Developer, preferably within the financial services or banking industry.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices, including Agile methodologies, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with high-performance, scalable applications, and secure coding standards.
- Familiarity with regulatory technology, trading platforms, or front office systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of security engineering principles and best practices.
- Exposure to AI and machine learning concepts, with an interest in AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust Python applications that support various banking functions and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Implement best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Participate in code reviews, provide mentorship to junior developers, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support the integration of AI and machine learning models into existing banking platforms to enhance functionality and efficiency.
- Contribute to security and governance initiatives by developing secure applications and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly in AI and regulatory technology, to recommend innovative solutions.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to minimize system downtime.
