About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join our dynamic engineering teams in London on a hybrid work basis, with three days onsite per week. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within one of the world's largest investment banks, contributing to the modernization of critical banking technology platforms. As a Senior Python Developer, you will be instrumental in developing, testing, and deploying innovative applications that support a wide range of functions including global markets technology, regulatory technology, front office platforms, security initiatives, and AI-enabled proof of concepts.
This position is ideal for individuals passionate about solving complex technical challenges using Python within the financial services or banking sectors. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Python development, with proven experience in financial services or banking applications. A solid understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms is essential. Experience working on regulatory technology, trading systems, front office platforms, or security engineering will be highly regarded. Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot is advantageous, although not mandatory.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, and a keen interest in emerging technologies like AI and automation. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is typically required, with additional certifications or experience in financial technology considered a plus.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Python Developer, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure applications tailored to the financial industry.
- Working closely with product owners, business analysts, and other engineering teams to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
- Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to best practices in software development.
- Participating in the full software development lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of applications.
- Contributing to the modernization initiatives by leveraging AI and automation tools to improve development workflows.
- Staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
