Senior Python Engineer – AI & Agentic Systems | London | £100k
Build production AI agents
I’m working with a high-growth, technology-led business that is investing heavily in AI and looking for a Senior Python Engineer to help build the next generation of its engineering platform.
This is not a traditional Data Science or ML role.
You’ll be a hands-on software engineer building production-grade Python services, APIs, and AI-powered systems, with real ownership over architecture, infrastructure, and delivery.
🤖 What you'll be working on
You’ll help build and scale an agentic AI platform that brings AI into real business workflows, with a strong focus on security, reliability, and engineering quality. You’ll be involved in:
- Building production Python services and APIs
- Designing and integrating LLM-powered applications and AI agents
- Agent orchestration, tool calling, and RAG
- Authentication, permissions, and AI guardrails
- Evaluation, monitoring, and observability
- Cloud infrastructure and deployment
- Terraform / Infrastructure-as-Code
- Docker, CI/CD, and production engineering
- Using tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar
- Helping shape how AI is adopted across the wider engineering team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Production experience with LLMs, GenAI, or AI agents
- Experience with RAG, tool calling, LangChain, LangGraph, MCP, or similar

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who has actually built and shipped AI-powered systems, rather than someone whose AI experience is limited to experimentation.
