Senior Python Engineer (Contract, London Hybrid)

📍London, UK (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office, mandatory)
đź“„ 6-month B2B contract with possible extension
🚀Start: ASAP (up to 2 weeks notice)

We are looking for 2–4 Senior Python Engineers to join a high-impact enterprise programme working with major financial and technology clients. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building scalable backend systems, data-intensive applications, and cloud-native solutions in complex business environments.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain Python applications for financial data processing, modelling, and reporting.
  • Design scalable microservices and APIs that integrate with trading platforms, market data providers, and internal systems.
  • Optimize real-time and batch data pipelines handling large datasets.
  • Collaborate with finance, risk, DevOps, and product teams.
  • Ensure secure, maintainable, and compliant software delivery.
  • Lead code reviews and support engineering best practices.

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of Python development experience in enterprise or financial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of financial instruments (equities, derivatives, fixed income) and market data.
  • Hands-on experience with NumPy, Pandas, PySpark, Pydantic, QuantLib, or similar libraries.
  • Experience with trading systems, risk engines, or portfolio management platforms.
  • Strong cloud and DevOps background: AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
