Senior Python Engineer | Front Office Trading Technology

Location: London (Hybrid)
Client: Global Investment Bank
Role Impact: High Impact Engineering

We're partnering with a leading global investment bank to hire a Senior Python Engineer for its Front Office FX Options Technology team.

This is an opportunity to work directly with traders, quantitative analysts, and sales teams to build and enhance business-critical trading platforms used across global financial markets.

You'll be part of a highly collaborative engineering environment where your work has direct visibility and measurable impact. While experience within financial services is advantageous, we're equally interested in strong software engineers from technology, gaming, telecoms, e-commerce, or other high-performance engineering environments.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building and enhancing real-time trading and pricing platforms used by front-office teams globally
  • Developing scalable Python applications and services that support trading, analytics, and market data workflows
  • Designing distributed systems capable of handling high volumes of data and transactions
  • Working closely with traders and quantitative teams to deliver technology solutions that support business objectives
  • Improving platform performance, reliability, and resilience
  • Contributing to architectural decisions and engineering best practices
  • Taking ownership of projects from design through to deployment and support

What We're Looking For

  • Strong commercial experience developing software with Python
  • Experience building scalable, production-grade applications
  • Good understanding of distributed systems, APIs, messaging technologies, or event-driven architectures
  • Knowledge of databases and data processing technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of software engineering fundamentals
  • Ability to work directly with stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Experience within financial services, capital markets, or trading technology is beneficial but not essential
