Senior Python Engineers — Finance

Location: London

Working Pattern: 4 days per week in the London office, 1 day WFH

Salary: Up to £150,000 - 200,000 + bonus

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Python Engineer to join a high-performing technology team within a leading financial services client in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Python engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, building scalable systems and working in a fast-paced, high-performance financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain high-performance Python applications and services.
  • Develop robust, scalable and production-quality software.
  • Work closely with quantitative, trading, technology and business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to technical architecture and engineering best practices.
  • Optimise systems for performance, reliability and scalability.
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
  • Troubleshoot complex production and technical issues.

About You

  • Extensive professional experience with Python and modern Python development practices.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience designing scalable systems.
  • Experience working with distributed systems, APIs and/or data-intensive applications.
  • Strong understanding of testing, CI/CD and software development best practices.
  • Comfortable working in a demanding, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience within financial services, banking, trading, investment management or another high-performance technology environment is highly desirable.
