The Role
You'll join an interdisciplinary team of engineers, a product manager, and an architect, getting involved from kickoff in designing and scoping features, identifying risk early, and shaping acceptance criteria and BDD scenarios. This is a hands-on, automation-focused role: you'll design, build, and own automated test suites across APIs, services, and a React front end, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines so every change gets fast, reliable feedback.
You'll own the team's test automation frameworks and tooling, keeping tests fast, stable, and maintainable, and you'll lead performance, load, and scalability testing, defining realistic scenarios, and working with engineers to resolve bottlenecks. You'll review pull requests with a quality lens, champion AI tools in testing, and evolve the team's test strategy and quality metrics. You'll also coach and mentor engineers so quality is owned by the whole team, take part in Agile ceremonies, and consider security and data privacy in all testing, with due concern for standards such as PCI and ISO 27001. You'll support releases, triage customer-reported issues with support colleagues, and carry out targeted exploratory testing of high-risk changes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
