About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Senior QA Engineer to join our UK QA team. You’ll work autonomously across the full testing lifecycle—from requirements analysis and test planning to execution, reporting, and automation—with minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate must:
- Collaborate effectively with projects teams, stakeholders and non-technical teams
- Understand business and technical requirements while assessing risks
- Define tailored test approaches and deliver high-quality outcomes
- Contribute to continuous improvement of quality engineering practices and evolving automation capabilities
- Help adopt innovative technologies, including AI-assisted testing approaches
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement & Strategy
- Partner with project teams and stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify risks, and decide on scalable testing strategies
- Provide accurate test estimates and contribute to project planning and execution
Documentation & Quality Assurance
- Develop and maintain formal testing artefacts (Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Specifications, Test Reports) in line with contractual and regulatory standards
- Ensure holistic test coverage through risk-based testing, requirements traceability, and auditable best practices

- Design, maintain, and upgrade automated test suites using Playwright and TypeScript
- Identify opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and coverage via:
- Test automation advancements
- Tooling optimisations
- Process refinements
- AI-assisted solutions

- champion rigorous yet adaptive testing methodologies that drive confidence and efficiency
Requirements
Core Knowledge & Experience
✔ Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience ✔ 5+ years of software quality assurance (QA) experience, including:
- Hands-on test planning, execution, and reporting
- Requirements analysis, risk assessment, effort estimation and test approach definition ✔ Demonstrable experience leading or coordinating testing activities across projects ✔ Applicable experience documenting testing processes in high-stakes, auditable environments, including contractual/client-facing submissions
Technical Proficiencies
✔ Strong proficiency in Playwright and TypeScript for reliable test automation ✔ Proven experience testing web applications, APIs, and integrated systems ✔ Ability to write and execute SQL queries to validate data quality and evaluate system-health

Certifications & Experience
➔ ISTQB certification or equivalent ➔ Prior work in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) testing
Tools & Process Optimisation
➔ Experience integrating automation within CI/CD pipelines ➔ Familiarity with regulated or contractual project delivery environments

➔ Exposure to AI-driven testing tools to streamline automation and agile delivery
