Senior QA Engineer (Mobile) - Cupid Media
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior QA Engineer (Mobile) - Cupid Media based in United Kingdom.
This role offers the opportunity to ensure the quality and reliability of globally used mobile applications.
You will take ownership of the QA lifecycle, from feature validation and test planning to production releases.
The position combines hands-on testing, automation, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
You will help improve product stability, user experience, and release confidence across mobile platforms.
Working in a remote and international environment, you will contribute to products that connect people worldwide.
The role is ideal for a QA professional who enjoys solving complex quality challenges and building scalable testing processes.
Accountabilities
The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for driving quality assurance across mobile product development, ensuring reliable releases and continuous improvement of testing practices.
- Own the quality validation process from technical hand-off through successful production deployment.
- Review product specifications, define test strategies, and create detailed test plans, cases, and checklists.
- Estimate testing efforts accurately and deliver high-quality validation within agreed timelines.
- Perform functional, exploratory, regression, UI/UX, and end-to-end API testing across real devices and emulators.
- Develop, maintain, and expand mobile test automation frameworks for UI and API testing.
- Integrate automated testing solutions into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous quality checks.
- Automate critical user journeys and manage test data preparation and cleanup processes.
- Conduct test documentation, participate in code reviews, and maintain high engineering standards.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Mobile Engineers, Backend Engineers, and Architects throughout the development lifecycle.
- Support mobile application releases by validating builds, testing deep links, performing pre-release checks, and monitoring production performance.
- Track and improve QA metrics such as test coverage, defect rates, and automation effectiveness.

Requirements
The ideal candidate has strong mobile QA expertise, experience with automation frameworks, and a solid understanding of software testing methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of QA principles, testing methodologies, test design techniques, and software development processes.
- Experience testing mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms, including real devices and emulators.
- Understanding of mobile application lifecycles, platform guidelines, and release processes for App Store and Google Play.
- Experience using debugging and analysis tools such as Proxyman, Charles, Fiddler, ADB logcat, and Xcode Console.
- Familiarity with API testing using tools such as Postman and REST/GraphQL services.
- Experience managing test data and working with bug tracking, test management, and version control tools such as Jira, Allure TestOps, and Git.
- Hands-on experience with mobile automation frameworks such as Maestro or Appium.
- Basic scripting skills in languages such as JavaScript or Python.
- Familiarity with CI/CD environments and tools such as GitHub Actions or Bitrise.
- Experience with crash monitoring tools such as Sentry and mobile application release workflows.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to collaborate effectively in distributed teams.
