Senior Health, Safety & Facilities Advisor

Are you passionate about creating safe, compliant, and high-performing workplaces? We're seeking an experienced QHSE professional to lead health, safety, quality, and environmental initiatives within our fast-paced warehouse operation. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive continuous improvement, influence positive change, and work closely with teams across the business to raise standards and deliver operational excellence.

About the Role

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a Senior Health, Safety & Facilities Advisor to join our shared-user site in Merlin Park, Birmingham. You will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and company policies, while driving continuous improvement initiatives and promoting a strong culture of safety and accountability.

Promoting and driving a culture of safety engagement in line with the Road to Zero philosophy and improving performance through the implementation of relevant management systems, current standards, and legislation; maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by the identification and control of risks, leading to the prevention of accidents and causes of work-related ill health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal audits, support external audits, and monitor key QHSE performance indicators, helping drive continuous improvement and successful certification outcomes.
  • Promote a positive safety culture by supporting risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions across the site.
  • Lead and support environmental and sustainability initiatives, including the collection and reporting of ESG data, while contributing to the delivery of safety inductions and operational training programs.
  • Act as a key point of contact for facilities management, coordinating maintenance activities, managing contractor compliance and permits to work, and responding effectively to site issues and emergencies to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
